Absences

It is the responsibility of a parent/guardian to notify the Northwest School of Innovative Learning if a student has an illness, a scheduled appointment, late arrival, early dismissal, or any other change in their normal attendance. It is important that parents/guardians contact both the Northwest School of Innovative Learning and your home School District Transportation as soon as possible.

Absences will be recorded as unexcused unless a parent/guardian phone call or note is received within two school days.

Some examples of excused absences:

• Illness
• Attending a funeral
• Attending a court hearing
• Medical/family emergency
• Religious holiday

In situations involving extended absences for medical or mental health issues, parents/guardians should contact school administration to share information and discuss any needed arrangements.
